Lars Spuybroek é o diretor do NOX, seu escritório de arquitetura em Rotterdam, Holanda. Desde o início dos anos 1990, ele tem estado envolvido com pesquisas sobre a relação entre arquitetura e midias, e com freqüência entre arquitetura e computação, especificamente.

Lars Spuybroek is the principal of NOX, his architecture office at Rotterdam, Netherlands. Since the early nineties he has been involved in researching the relationship between architecture and media, often more specifically between architecture and computing.
He was the editor-publisher of one of the first magazines in a book format (NOX, and later Forum), made video (Soft City) and interactive electronic artworks, even though the last five years he focused more on architecture. His work has won several prizes and was exhibited in many parts of the world, including at the Venice Biennale, in 2000 and 2002.
His recent works are an interactive tower for the Dutch city of Doetinchem (D-Tower), "a house where sounds live" (Son-O-house), an interactive office building in Stratford-upon-Avon, England (Soft Office), a multiple complex of cultural buildings in Lille, France, and a Home for Alice, in Italy.
Lars Spuybroek has lectured at different places of the world. He has taught at several universities in Holland and is a regular visiting professor at Columbia University, New York. Since 2002 he holds a tenured professorship at the University of Kassel, in Germany, where he runs the CAD/digital design techniques department.
